Solution Architect - Analytics

Job Information

The Solution Architect for Analytics will be a key member of the Global Digital Data Engineering team. This team is responsible for managing our Global Data Platform. The focus of this role will be to provide architectural leadership and oversight for the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure analytics solutions, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Power BI. You will be responsible for defining best practices, ensuring solutions align with our enterprise architecture, and guiding development teams to deliver high-quality analytics products that meet diverse business needs across our global operations.

Role & Responsibility

Solution Design:

• Develop architectural blueprints and detailed technical designs that align with business requirements.
• Create high-level and detailed design documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and interface specifications.
• Establish and promote best practices, standards, and governance for Power BI development, data modelling, security, and performance optimization across the organization.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work closely with business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Guidance:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review code, design, and architecture to ensure adherence to best practices and alignment with architectural standards.

Implementation Oversight:

• Oversee the implementation of solutions to ensure they meet the specified architecture and design.
• Conduct architecture reviews and audits to ensure compliance with strategic goals and technical standards.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Stewards to ensure Power BI solutions comply with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal data security policies.

Innovation and Best Practices:

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
• Identify and recommend new technologies, tools, and practices to improve the quality and efficiency of solutions.

Problem Solving:

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that may arise during development and deployment.
• Provide support and guidance to development and operations teams as needed.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technical role such as Developer, Systems Analyst, or similar positions.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing software and system solutions.
• Strong knowledge of systems architecture and design principles.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (Kimball/Inmon), and database technologies (SQL).
• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX and Data Modelling principles.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, SQL).
• Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across different functions.
• Travel Standard < 25%.
