The Product Marketing Manager Sr. (Sr. PMM) is a seasoned product marketing leader who operates as the strategic bridge between product management, marketing, and sales teams. This role is responsible for driving advanced product marketing initiatives that maximize market impact and revenue potential. The Sr. PMM takes ownership of defining the go-to-market (GTM) strategy, messaging, and positioning across complex product portfolios, while consistently advocating for customer needs and competitive differentiation. Building upon their deep experience, the Sr. PMM guides cross-functional teams through key marketing and launch processes, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with company objectives.

This position is ideal for a product marketing expert with a proven ability to shape strategic decisions, execute tactical plans, and contribute directly to organizational growth through innovative marketing strategies.

 

Role & Responsibility

 

Product Positioning, Messaging, and Launch:

  • Lead product positioning and messaging refinement for assigned product lines, ensuring clarity and differentiation that effectively resonates with target audiences
  • Deeply analyze customer data, competitive insights, and market trends to craft impactful messaging frameworks that elevate the value of products
  • Partner with product management to design and execute comprehensive GTM strategies for all new product launches, updates, or enhancements
  • Ensure product marketing materials consistently address customer pain points, preferences, and priorities, while clearly communicating the product’s unique value proposition
  • Collaborate with creative teams and marketing partners to develop compelling content for sales enablement, digital campaigns, and customer communications

 

Strategic Marketing Leadership:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and refinement of marketing plans that align with broader business objectives and growth targets
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify strategic opportunities, drive differentiation, and improve overall market positioning
  • Turn product insights (features, benefits, and ROI data) into actionable strategies that influence roadmap decisions and enhance products’ commercial success
  • Manage team members, providing leadership in strategy development and execution

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Enablement:

  • Act as the primary liaison between product management, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and execution of cohesive marketing strategies
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to provide updates, gather feedback, and optimize product marketing initiatives
  • Provide strategic direction to sales enablement efforts by creating and delivering tools and training that empower sales teams with the knowledge they need to position and sell effectively
  • Maintain proactive communication across departments to address gaps, prioritize initiatives, and build stronger integration between product development and marketing efforts

Performance Tracking and Continuous Improvement:

  • Define and monitor KPIs for product marketing campaigns to measure effectiveness, optimize strategies, and achieve measurable results
  • Leverage data analytics and customer insights to continuously evolve positioning, messaging, and campaign strategies
  • Report progress and results of marketing campaigns to the leadership team with clear recommendations on how to refine and scale efforts

 

Job Requirement:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, marketing strategy, or a related role, with proven expertise in leading complex product marketing campaigns.
  • A strong track record of successfully positioning high-value products and delivering measurable growth.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry or a similarly complex field is preferred.
  • Advanced experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and leading with influence.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of product launch strategies, storytelling, and customer-centric messaging.
  • Advanced project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in competitive research, SWOT analysis, and leveraging insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms such as CRM systems, analytics tools, and marketing automation software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives.
  • A creative mindset with the ability to connect marketing initiatives to business outcomes.
  • Ability to mentor junior product marketers and elevate team effectiveness.
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach with excellent interpersonal skills to work across diverse teams.
