Location: West Fargo, ND and Bismarck ND

This position exists to build Bobcat's compact tractor and utility tractor product lines by partnering cross-functionally within the product roadmap process to improve upon our dynamic line of tractor offerings. This includes maximizing gross product revenue and achieving industry-leading customer satisfaction.

Role & Responsibility

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Monitor, analyze and communicate competitor product intelligence (e.g. business strategy, new products, pricing data) to identify implications and differentiation opportunities for the company's strategy and products.
  • In conjunction with Marketing, initiate and/or participate in market and product research activities to understand voice of customer and dealer needs (survey, customer visits, focus groups, dealer visits).
  • Review Engineering Change Notice's for field impact (price, performance, safety),communicate findings and propose solutions.

Product Plan Development

  • Understand operational issues & balance those aspects in the product planning process including quality, manufacturing complexity, and current process capability.
  • Build business cases for product development, understanding customer needs, competitor's capabilities, and profit goals.

Product Management

  • Acting as the voice of customer, provide product feedback to support product development.
  • Act as a liaison with the attachments team to ensure product alignment.
  • Develop and maintain price and specification data sheets.
  • Setup new product and option package configurations in production planning systems.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, develop training materials for new product launches along with participating in market and product training events (e.g. press events, literature, web development, photo/video, etc.).
  • Develop and conduct product training activities to support dealer sales specialists and Bobcat field marketers.
  • Provide on-going product support to dealer sales specialists and Bobcat Field Marketers.
  • Support on-going efforts to improve dealer performance.
  • Actively participate and take advantage of available industry events and associations.

Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Engineering
  • Experience Required:  4+ years of experience in Product Development, Engineering or Market Development
  • Travel Required: 10-24%
  • Bobcat (or competitor) product operating and/or development experience.
  • Experience in conducting, compiling and presenting customer research.
  • Able to think critically and make data-driven decisions based on product specifications, while acknowledging trade-offs.
  • Detail oriented; experienced with Excel and other data management systems.
  • Able to build and foster relationships with a variety of stakeholders, important to the company and its interests.
  • Able to handle objections from dealer staff, suggest alternatives, and provide supporting evidence to help change stakeholder mindset, where appropriate,
