The District Manager (Level DOE) role provides strategic leadership for the overall management of the territory, optimizing sales potential and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align territory strategies with broader company goals. This position requires advanced dealer communication and accountability, including building and maintaining strategic relationships with key independent dealers, providing guidance and support in developing strategic sales plans, consistently following through with desired outcomes and enhancing dealer communication and performance management processes.
Role & Responsibility
Territory Leadership and Optimization
- Provide strategic leadership for the overall management of the territory, driving sales performance and market share growth through effective planning and execution
- Optimize the territory's sales potential by identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities, as well as addressing any challenges that may impact sales performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align territory strategies with broader company goals and initiatives
- Proactively provide field insights and recommendations to key decision-makers in the organization
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence large dealer organizations and districts with high sales volume
Advanced Dealer Communication and Accountability
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key independent dealers and stakeholders at a senior level, fostering collaboration and alignment with company objectives
- Provide guidance and support to dealers in developing and executing strategic sales plans, ensuring they are fully aligned with the company's vision and direction
- Lead efforts to continuously enhance dealer communication, accountability, and performance management processes to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness
- Demonstrate a deep and comprehensive understanding of dealer sales agreements to ensure compliance and mutually beneficial partnerships
- Proven ability to adapt and execute tailored strategies for a diverse range of dealers, leveraging flexibility and insight to maximize results
Advanced Dealer Training and Development
- Develop advanced training programs for independent dealers, focusing on sophisticated sales techniques, market trends, and customer retention strategies
- Implement a robust coaching and development framework to enhance the capabilities of dealers, ensuring they are equipped to adapt to evolving market dynamics and customer needs
- Drive innovation in training and development processes to ensure that dealers are equipped to deliver exceptional sales and service experiences
Team Support
- Gain exposure (when applicable) to guiding direct reports through regular follow-ups, coaching, and mentoring to ensure they are equipped to succeed in their roles
- Providing leadership and direction to the sales team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Collaborating with other regional leaders and understanding different regional dynamics to effectively manage and support the team
- In coordination with the Director – Dealer Accounts, participate in interviews for District Sales Managers or Sales Support Specialists to gain interview skill knowledge
Job Requirement
- Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Marketing preferred. Equivalent experience is accepted
- 8-10 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3-5 years in business-to-business sales and marketing
- Proven track record of successfully managing and consistently expanding sales territories, with a focus on strategic growth and market leadership
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and make sound business decisions, with a strategic mindset for long-term success
- Strong focus on achieving and exceeding established targets and objectives, with an emphasis on driving overall sales and market growth
- Advanced proficiency in negotiation techniques and strategies, with a proven ability to navigate complex deals and partnerships
- Proven ability to proactively develop and maintain strong, pivotal relationships with internal functions, field service teams, and financial counterparts, while also expanding to external strategic partnerships
- Highly advanced verbal communication skills in leading sales meetings, delivering presentations, and negotiating with key stakeholders and major accounts
- Documented ability to write and articulate comprehensive sales proposals, contracts, and business plans with precision and clarity, demonstrating a strong command of strategic sales and business development
- Effective communication of complex sales strategies and market insights to both internal and external stakeholders with confidence, while also driving thought leadership within the organization
- Mentorship and coaching of junior and mid-level team members to enhance their communication skills, leadership capabilities, and overall sales effectiveness
- Collaborate closely with marketing and product teams to develop messaging and materials that effectively communicate sophisticated value propositions to customers, while also shaping long-term market strategies
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean Department of Motor Vehicle driving record
- Travel requirement: Approximately 75%
