The Indirect Commodity Leader handles managing identified categories of spend, its suppliers, internal stakeholders, and the sourcing strategy.  Scope of the category management includes strategic sourcing, sourcing execution, and supplier management.  Indirect Commodity Leader will implement strategic initiatives and sourcing strategies to reduce spend, improve value, ensure legal compliance, and support sources of supply.  He/she will handle driving the creation of a formal sourcing strategy for review and approval by key stakeholder and the Doosan Bobcat leadership team.   They will have oversight on the supplier selection, relationships with suppliers and handles commercial aspects including negotiations, contracts, partnerships, and supplier performance management.

This position is open to multiple locations: Bismarck, West Fargo, Gwinner, Wahpeton, ND; Litchfield, MN; Statesville, NC; Johnson Creek, WI.

Role & Responsibility

  • Creating and deploying formal strategic vision of the assigned commodities.
  •  Full knowledge of indirect sourcing process 
  • Supplier performance, value management and continuous improvements.
  • Supply market research and data analysis
  • Building solid relationships internally and externally
  • Negotiation
  • Lead RFx process.  Participate in SOW development.
  •  Aligning to strategic goals with the organization.
  • Internal process improvements.

Job Requirement

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
    • MBA, CPSM a plus
  • Required minimum 3-5 years or more Indirect Procurement experience or at least 3 years of procurement experience.
  • Travel: 15-35%
  • Ability to communicate with everyone within an organization, from people on the shop floor to CEOs of major corporations
  •  Leadership skills of persuasion, influencing and empathy; along with internal drive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Others

•    Simultaneously support the positive resolution of multiple issues on multiple projects without constant supervision.
•    This role will be responsible for an annual spend percentage and/or total direct spend.
•    Global Travel occasional.
