The NA Supplier Development Lean Continuous Improvement Engineer Sr. is responsible for leading and executing Lean initiatives, with our Supplier Partners, which drive measurable business results in Quality, Cost, and Demand Management. The ability to conduct fact-based analyses and problem-solving; along with developing actionable recommendations to achieve business results are key success factors. Position reports into Supplier Development Lean Continuous Improvement Lead but will be required to work cross-functionally with our Direct Material Suppliers, Procurement, Component Engineering and Operations to establish strategic and comprehensive continuous improvement strategies that are aligned with Bobcat’s business objectives.

Role & Responsibility

Learning and Development.

  • Deploy Lean Orientation Training 
  • Deploy Lean Certification Training
  • Maintain Success Factors and Bobcat Procurement University systems
  • Deploy Supplier Lean Training

Supplier Development

  • Lead Gemba activities at Suppliers
  • Coach and mentor Supplier Development Engineers.
  • Coach and mentor Suppliers
  • Lead Kaizen Events at Suppliers

VIP

  • Support Value Innovation Program Kickoff events
  • Lead 3P Events for New Product Introduction and Value Innovation Program
  • Support Cost Modeling activities 
  • Lead Lean Assessments

Reporting

  • Report to Global Lean Continuous Improvement Lead on maturity of the system and team members.
  • Report to Value Innovation Program team on cost opportunities using Lean Tools
  • Report to Sourcing team on cost opportunities using Lean Tools

Job Requirement

  • Education: bachelor’s degree - Engineering; MBA highly desirable (e.g., Master's)
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Certifications: Lean Certification preferred, Six Sigma Belt Preferred
  • Travel: 25 - 50%
  • Good verbal & written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft suite of tools.
  • Preferred multidisciplinary experience across Lean, Procurement, Operations, Engineering Functions (Sourcing, NPD Sourcing, Supplier Development, Operations Quality and Change Management) 
  • Proven track record of Lean transformation, implementing processes, and managing multiple projects with cross-functional work experience. 
  • Preferred knowledge of Mfg. Quality Systems, Procedure, Process and Std Work Development and Supply Chain processes and tools.
