Role & Responsibility
Please review the below job descriptions for some of the entry-level engineering opportunities currently offered by Doosan Bobcat:
Quality Engineering
- Complete formal audits and assessments on products and processes
- Continuously monitor the quality of supplied and/or internally manufactured components and products using the appropriate metrology equipment
- Drive corrective action on non-conforming materials and secure deviations in situations where non-conforming may be temporarily allowed until addressed
- Follow-up on field to factory communications and lead containment activities that may be required
- Review and drive updates to standard work, processes, tools, measurements, checks, and training used to ensure complete and consistent work is performed
- Identify opportunities, complete measurement systems analyses, procure measurement equipment, and implement process monitoring and controls capabilities to improve processes
Design Engineering
- Create, modify, analyze, and maintain the engineering design of assigned products, systems, and components
- Be aware of trends and developments in product design from vendor contacts, workshops, and meetings, industry, and div. contacts to determine and apply new techniques, materials, and procedures beneficial to assigned product designs
- Work with other departmental functions (service, production, tooling, marketing, dealers, etc.) in completion of assigned projects
- Participate and assist in the planning of product specifications, timelines, resource requirements
- Prepare and participate in product engineering presentations to venders, customers, and other departments
- Direct, and analyze results of tests on prototype and production machines
Test Engineering
- Execute endurance and performance test activities to support Bobcat product development
- Structural fatigue life analysis through internal life prediction methods
- Laboratory fatigue testing of components aided by damage comparison tools
- Hydraulic and cooling component performance and durability testing
- Preparation and ongoing review of products for durability testing at proving grounds
- Coordinate tests and communicate status with product design engineers, making recommendations regarding product design
Manufacturing Engineering
- Analyze and evaluate factory manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials in terms of their associated cost, time, ergonomic, quality, and quantity factors, making recommendations
- Write and distribute manufacturing changes and associated operating work instructions to all affected personnel on the shop floor as well as training operators on the product and process changes.
- Lead and participate in kaizen events for continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Analysis of time and motion analysis, methods, estimating, process engineering, and plant layout for assigned area to ensure balanced methods and available capacity to meet customer demand
- Assist engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel in problem-solving activities related to the assigned areas for product support
- Review preliminary engineering design for estimating tool and manufacturing cost. Recommend design changes to maximize economical manufacture
Job Requirement
- Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Ag & Biosystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
- Experience Required: 0 - 2 years
- Travel Required: <10%
- Ability to quickly learn and execute projects following the company's product development and validation processes, project timeliness, and manager guidance
- Proven skills and experience using various engineering tools related to design and validation of new and existing products: Creo and/or other computer engineering tools, instrumentation, C++, Programmable Logic Controllers, MTS Equipment, ANSYS, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; Critical and creative thinking
- Strong applied mechanical and analytical skills and a willingness to use them
- Prefer experience in automotive, construction equipment, or related manufacturing industry
