Job Information

The primary responsibility of the VAT Coordinator is to ensure that the company is in compliance with all VAT requirements across the European jurisdictions in which it operates. Maximisation of cash flows through timely requests and follow up on all VAT refunds is a key responsibility.

Main Responsibility

Details

 

Shipping Administration

  • Providing accurate and timely reporting of VAT, Intrastat & VIES returns.
  • Resolving user/customers queries on VAT and intrastat issues and errors.
  • Upfront VAT auditing to minimise financial risk to the Company.
  • Assume ownership for preparation and Filing of Intrastat submissions and VIES Submissions
  • Assume ownership for preparation and filing of all statutory returns
  • Process VAT accurately and in a timely manner. (monthly basis ongoing) Coordinate vat payments and receivables.
  • Provide support for Branches, BU’s on all VAT / Intrastat related compliance issues as well as supporting the Finance and Tax Groups respectively
  • Resolving User / Customer queries on VAT issues and errors and providing training or instruction on corrections
  • Provide metrics on a monthly basis.
  • Identification and resolution of Intrastat errors.
  • Process improvement identification and participation in initiatives.  
  • Various additional ad hoc duties as required to meet reporting deadlines.

  • Practical experience in VAT accounting gained in previous/present posts.
  • Sound business knowledge.
  • Good spreadsheet and database skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • ERP knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to work in a structured way in required as work standards and timelines are dictated by EU regulations.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and adhere to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Interpersonal communication skills
