Job Information

Position Summary:

  • Ensure all products meet Geith quality standards before delivery to our customers
  • Managing customer warranty complaints, completing root cause analysis and implementation of preventative actions. Preventative actions include change/addition to production processes, operator training and validation, defining test standards and inspection requirements
  • Communication and collaboration of quality activities with the design, technical support, supply chain, customer service, sales, marketing and management teams and effective communication of the quality department performance
  • Administration and management of warranty claim cost recovery (supplier cost recovery)
  • Remote management of the supplier quality and production teams in our Tier 1 supplier factories. Weekly review with the Geith/Doosan support team and the supplier quality and production teams while tracking critical tasks daily
  • Travel to supplier locations and complete supplier quality audits using the DGSS supplied audit to identify concerns in quality with focus on 5S, Visual Management of quality KPI's, ISO 9001 compliance and implementation of Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Direct responsibility for achieving and communication of quality and supplier (KPI) targets. KPI's include: Supplier Quality and Recovery, Standard and Initial Warranty and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Supplier management using monthly scorecard with KPI's including PPM, COPQ%, Responsiveness, OTD.
  • Responsible for NPD activities including PPAP validation of all production components for the first production batch. Daily management with local suppliers defining CTQ for all parts and supervising jig production and corrective actions
  • Regularly defining new procedures for supplier production staff to achieve engineering and quality requirements, including identifying correct production process and equipment required to achieve repeatable performance for quality

Quality Activities

 

Non-conforming parts/products

  • Weekly supplied review to communicate all issues
  • Document all root cause with focus on elimination of the problem to prevent reoccurrence using 8D & A3 report and methodology
  • Stock review and rework - delegation, administration and management
  • Supplier cost recovery - administration and management
  • Communication with the customer/end user the actions taken and close out
  • KPI monitoring and action plan
  • Monthly reporting of KPI
  • Review of returning items and decision maker for disposition

Customer OEM audits

  • Travel to supplier factory location to review and identify improvement actions, assess supplier readiness and support as required
  • Onsite during audit to support and complete follow up communication with hte customer demonstration improvement task(s) completion

NPD Quality Support

  • Validation of the NPD CTQ for all parts and assemblies
  • PPAP definition and validation throughout the prototype and first production batch
  • Tooling and fixtures development and validation

 

Manufacture & Process Improvement Activities (Supplier Visits)

 

Audit & ISO Compliance

  • Travel to supplier factory location
  • Complete supplier quality audits using DGSS supplier audit to identify concerns in quality
  • Review of supplier quality control program and compliance with IS 9001

Supplier Visit Reporting

  • Documenting action items and communicating with the supplier
  • Verification of the completed actions and managing due dates

 

Aftermarket Parts Activities

  • Aftermarket parts request administration and set up
  • Technical support of aftermarket queries
  • Point of contact for all aftermarket request for OEM queries

Job Requirement

  • Education & Qualification:  Quality Engineering Degree (Allow Equivalent)
  • Experience: 3>5 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Travel Standard: 10-15%
  • Ability to travel to various supplier locations in Asia, Europe and USA
  • Prerequisite Training Course:  Lean Manufacturing Course
  • Knowledge of quality system standards and problem solving methods
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office…)
  • English
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and decision making skills
