Job Information

The Parts Operations Manager will lead the Doosan parts team in optimizing the receiving, storage, and distribution of parts to the dealer network. Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure quality of parts distribution meets customer and dealer expectations and provide guidance on key operational performance indicators. Develop key strategic initiatives that drive operational improvements for enhanced parts delivery.

Role & Responsibility

Operational Excellence

  • Responsible for negotiation of long-term agreements with Parts 3PLs, along with 3PL performance metrics. This includes (but is not limited to): quality, cost, material flow, customer support, records management, etc.
  • Continuously improve productivity, processes and quality in respective facilities for all Doosan Parts operations.
  • Manage operational costs within prescribed budgets, while ensuring business is meeting delivery expectations.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to maximize efficiencies.

 

Strategic Execution

  • Develop/sustain a long-term supply chain strategy that consider vendor performance, alliances with suppliers, and a distribution network model that continuously improves operational performance.
  • Continuously reassess the distribution model for future opportunities.
  • Lead parts sourcing efforts to gather and interpret analytics that drive potential localization opportunities with regional/direct-ship suppliers and hold these partners accountable to delivery standards that meet Doosan customer expectations.

Job Requirement

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master’s degree is a plus
  • Certifications: APICS, CPIM, Green Belt or Black Belt training and/or certification preferred
  • Experience: 5-7 years
  • Travel:  10-24%
  • Working knowledge of SAP’s WM system is a plus.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team’s disparate locations.
  • Ability to train and mentor on necessary skills in developing process improvements.
  • Ability to understand NPD and Sourcing processes and to read engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and 3PL management processes. 
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
