The Telematics Manager will develop and implement the strategy/execution of DoosanConnect Telematics solution(s) for the Heavy Equipment business. This includes driving the execution of an array of cross-functional digital solutions that create incremental revenue, profit, cost savings or cost avoidance for the organization.

Role & Responsibility

Set Strategy and Drive DoosanCONNECT Initiative

  • Understand data availability and functionality of DoosanCONNECT system
  • Identify, prioritize, and validate Internal / external customer telematic needs and find use cases
    (Need to identify what is currently deliverable and work with Korean telematics team on feasibility of future state)
  • Visualize and develop a plan to produce telematic solutions/reporting to meet business needs through sales, marketing, parts and service programs including machine data analysis
  • Design new business model or commercial program by working with cross-functional team to capture true opportunity of telematics solutions based on solid understanding of each function’s day to day business
  • Analyze expected financial impact of commercial program and track the performance of the program through the AOP target

 

Manage and Enhance DoosanCONNECT Solution/Process

  • Improve website interface and functionality of current system based on deep understanding of VOC/VOD
  • Validate new telematics device developed by global R&D and launch in North America. Manage local device vendor located in San Diego
  • Enhance telematics related process such as subscription renewal, troubleshooting, machine association and dealer data support structure
  • Work with Doosan Dealers to find the most efficient ways to deliver needed data from Parts, Sales, and Service to increase customer satisfaction and machine uptime
  • Develop sales/marketing material such as video clips, brochure, etc. to promote telematics system
  • Streamline internal process working with other functions in North America and the Global telematics team in Korea

 

Conduct Dealer Training

  • Improve dealer’s usage rate of DoosanCONNECT through diverse communication strategies
  • Perform face to face dealer training on site for targeted dealers to enhance their understanding level of DoosanCONNECT by utilizing improved training material
  • Leverage other training resources such as dealer development team and product management team

 

Identify New Tech and New Business Opportunity

  • Continue to keep an eye on introduction of new technology which could be linked with telematics solution to strengthen company’s strategic digital business

Job Requirement

  • Drive participation to the monetization and commercialization of the company’s digital business transformation.
  • Deal with steep learning curves, unstructured and complex problems both regionally and globally.
  • Eliminate the silo of information by working with I.T. to consolidate and integrate all core platforms (front office, back office and middleware).

  • Education:  Engineering, Information Technology, or Business Administration Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Experience:  5>7 years
  • Experience required in construction equipment industry, auto industry or related industry, and in strategic project management
  • Experience required in Telematics system or remotely communicated through digital platform
  • Experience preferred in creating new business model or new profit with an innovative way, process building, testing and management, data analysis and visualization and in managing cross-functional task force team as the control tower
  • Travel:  50%
