A Solution or System Architect that is Identity and Access Management (IAM) focused is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise identity and access management solutions. This role ensures secure, efficient, and scalable access to information systems and data across the organization. The Solution Architect IAM focused on working closely with IT security, operations, and application teams to integrate IAM solutions with existing systems and support ongoing security initiatives.

 

This role is critical for ensuring that the organization’s information systems are secure, compliant, and efficient in managing user identities and access privileges. The Solution Architect IAM focused plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the enterprise against unauthorized access and potential security breaches.

Role & Responsibility

Design and Architecture:

  • Develop and maintain the IAM architecture, including policies, standards, and procedures
  • Design secure IAM Solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to security best practices
  • Architect identity and access management frameworks, including identity governance, provisioning, authentication, and authorization

Implementation and Integration:

  • Lead the implementation and integration of IAM solutions with enterprise systems and applications
  • Collaborate with the development teams to ensure seamless integration of IAM services with existing and new applications
  • implement multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign on (SSO), and identity federation solutions

Administration and Support:

  • Oversee the administration of IAM systems, including user provisioning, role-based access control, and access reviews
  • Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff and end-users on IAM issues and initiatives
  • Monitor and maintain IAM systems to ensure optimal performance and security
  • work with technology vendors on strategic road mapping, resolving product issues, technology evaluations, and design reviews

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure IAM solutions comply with relevant security standards, policies, and regulations (e.g.,GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)
  • conduct regular security assessments and audits of IAM systems to identify and mitigate risks
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures relates to identity and access management

Document and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of IAM architectures, configurations, and processes
  • Prepare and present regular reports on IAM activities, metrics, and security incidents to management
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IAM systems

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with emerging IAM technologies, industry trends, and best practices
  • Identify and evaluate new IAM tools and technologies to enhance security and efficiency 
  • Lead IAM-related projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • develop and consistently refine the IAM strategic roadmap, ensuring that projects of all scales are in harmony with the version of how IAM should uphold enterprise controls, blending excellent user experience with top-notch security measures.
  • Articulate technical and business issues and solutions effectively to business or technical staff across organizational layers

Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience Required: 5-10 years.
  • IAM Experience Required: 3-5 years.
  • Travel Required: 10-24%
  • Extensive experience in identity and access management, including design, implementation, and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of IAM technologies and standards, such as LDAP, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and Active Directory.
  • Proven track record of working with common IAM vendor products such as Okta, SailPoint, Savyint, ForgeRock, Ping, in big organizations for the goal of managing security.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and integration tasks.
  • Excellent understanding of security principles and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC, are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on on WAM products and particularly on Okta Product and federation concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP etc.) experience in deploying and managing AM solutions on cloud platforms. AWS is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously and respond to rapidly changing demands
