Role & Responsibility
The primary responsibility of this position is to support projects focused on increased production capacity, cost reduction, new process implementation, and continuous improvement.
This position involves close interaction with numerous engineering disciplines and hourly functions.
Ability to work in a team environment is a must.
This position holder must also be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
A strong sense of detail along with a skillset in organization and multitasking is needed to succeed within this role.
Job Requirement
- Take responsibility for leading all aspects regarding the implementation of new manufacturing.
- Processes and equipment including Concept Review, Preliminary Design Review, Detailed Design Review, procurement, installation, and budget management.
- Define Functional Requirements, create Statements of Work, and prepare Requests for Quote, and all associated documentation.
- Develop and maintain plans to meet production quality, cost and schedule targets.
- Lead electromechanical troubleshooting of support equipment.
- Lead Peer Reviews, PFMEA's, and EH&S Reviews related to new tooling and equipment changes.
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Manage production process changes due to product design changes to meet production plan.
Education & Experience
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Process, Industrial Engineering, or other related Field
- Experience with Capital Equipment procurement and Installation.
- Advanced experience with automated production equipment.
- Good understanding of manufacturing technology/concepts and cost reductions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Maintain document revision control of all manufacturing documentation and document all supplier communications.
- Work closely with outside suppliers and internal groups to maintain project milestones.
- Gather, review, and analyze production data to determine opportunities for improvements.
Knowledge & Skill
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing required.
- Proficiency with varied manufacturing concepts such as VSM, 3P, Lean, SPC, Capacity Analysis, JIT, MRP, Kanban, TOM, PM, etc.
- Project management experience including ownership of quality, cost and scheduling.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Varied computer skills including advanced proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
- Adaptability to complete various tasks as business needs change.
