Job Information

Under direction of supervisor, interpret and apply broad instructions to plan, assign and check work of Material group employees. Exercise judgement to resolve unusual discrepancies and determine inventory requirements. Use computer programs to generate and interpret data and to make relevant reports. Provide technical support for ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting aftermarket parts and equipment. Resolve problems associated with the groups functions. Identify opportunities to improve methods and utilize work group skills considering all aspects of the operation, and recommend changes to improve costs, quality, accuracy and service. Perform all jobs within the group as needed. Properly maintain tools and equipment and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable work environment.

Role & Responsibility

  • Maintain efficient flow of materials from internal and external sources to assure all such material is properly accounted for as inventory.
  • Meet changing priorities to best utilize skills.
  • Utilize computer programs to enter, retrieve, store information, generate and interpret data, and make reports.
  • Schedule and record metal scrap sent out for reclamation.
  • Investigate and resolve unusual and unique discrepancies in the inventory and recommend changes to prevent recurrences.
  • Monitor input data to assure proper methods are being adhered to, and review records of transactions to locate lost misplaced and unaccounted-for materials and parts for effective cost accountability and inventory reconciliation.
  • Follow-up to assure corrective actions are implemented and effectively deployed.
  • Perform specialized assignments and collaborate effectively with other groups associated with the assignments.

Job Requirement

Education & Qualification

  • HS diploma or GED required. Requires well-rounded knowledge of inventory control principles, processes and tools.

Knowledge & Skill

  • Accuracy and detail focused
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Work in a factory/manufacturing environment
  • Work with inventory and production control data systems
  • Requires familiarity with manufacturing practices, tooling drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with utilization of data processing tools and methods, computer programs and auditing practices applicable to scheduling, inventory and production control.
