Job Information

Responsible for operational performance supporting the timely and accurate testing of fuel cell components, subassemblies and full-scale units. Participate in production engineering team(s) and missions. Support issues such as allocation of resources, test-related priorities, non-conformances, and root cause for corrective action. Work with procurement and engineering departments to commission and install new and upgraded test stand equipment. Effective collaboration with and across engineering disciplines, supply chain and materials coordination, with focus on hourly assembly and test functions. Focus on non-conformance identification and prompt recommendations for remedial actions to help determine root cause and corrective actions in a timely, cost effective and customer-focused approach.

Role & Responsibility

  • Focus on application and use of simple to difficult production and engineering practices and principles to achieve desired results

  • Keep abreast of new test technology development and consider new opportunities to advance and improve the test organization in terms of process, equipment, and performance/productivity elevation.

  • Actively share technical skills, expertise, and knowledge with others in daily work performance and peer development

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and other related disciplines to coordinate and assure effectivity of current test processes, and implementation of new test processes through utilization of root cause techniques to assure optimal problem resolution.

  • Ability to understand and carry-out priorities with the right sense of urgency, with importance for continuous improvement

  • Ensure new test programs and processes have been validated and thoroughly documented prior to actual production release

  • Respect individual differences and support the diverse thinking and contributions of the team(s).

  • Display organizational savvy. Know where to go to overcome barriers and how to reach the right people and resources to address issues

Job Requirement

  • AA/AS degree with 3-7+ years of experience

  • BA/BA degree with 2-4+ years of experience

  • MA/MS degree with 1-2+ years of experience

  • Prior test experience in a factory/manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experienced and skilled in use of quality improvement tools, with focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and root cause/corrective action.

  • Teamwork-focused with good organizational, communication and quality assurance skills

  • Result-driven with Strong computer and systems skills

  • Experience working in a team and communicating effectively

  • Exposure to working with an hourly manufacturing organization

  • Mechanical or electrical hands-on experience
