Job Information

Work with Supervision to understand how to effectively assess production requirements and help to determine and assign the most efficient supervision of assigned hourly employees in assigned manufacturing areas. Work with Supervision to understand the planning and allocation of resources, material, and scheduling of equipment and staff for maximum utilization of production, facilities and personnel. Lead, motivate and develop employees to achieve manufacturing performance targets and work to understand how to elevate employee engagement. Work with supervision to support daily production meetings, schedule and assign staff, and lead motivate and develop employees. Work with supervision to learn effective leadership of direct reports and support of teamwork across the group (s).

Role & Responsibility

  • Learn to direct, manage and optimize the groups activities in assigned area and shift.
  • Help supervisor to align resources and assign work to meet production/test targets.
  • Learn to track and analyze productivity and related metrics.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained on schedule to minimize downtime and associated cost.
  • Learn to understand and convey departmental priorities with the proper sense of urgency, importance and follow up.
  • Work with supervision to understand how to balance consistency with flexibility and effectively work across departmental boundaries to help other leads in their development and understanding of production needs.
  • Help to maintain the workflow by monitoring steps of the processes, observing control points and equipment performance, assisting supervisor in monitoring personnel and resources, and helping to facilitate corrections to errors/ malfunctions.

Job Requirement

Education & Qualification

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, and 2-3 years of trades training, or equivalent.

Knowledge & Skill

  • Mechanical background and training including material movement systems, assembly methods and techniques, and basic knowledge of physics, mechanics, electricity and gases.
  • Must be able to work from complicated assembly, test and parts drawings, and use a variety of linear and electrical measuring multimeters.
  • Leadership skills and abilities, with clear and accurate communications skills and record-keeping abilities
  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Work experience an industrial/production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
