Job Information

 

Responsible for development of fuel cell components, performing fuel cell operability trade and analysis of test data, developing electrochemical models, and defining verification and validation plans for new cost reduction initiatives. Lab support includes troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, vendor services, workflow priority, and control of Standard Work and material test methods databases. May lead and/or participate in IPD environments. Projects may focus on advanced catalyst research, electrode process development, and bipolar plate development. Such projects require expertise with a variety of lab equipment, including SEM, EDAX, ICP, mechanical testers, DMA, TMA, DSC, FTIR, TEM, XRD, zeta potential, and particle size analysis. May build cells for testing in the lab scale test stands, and will perform a variety of root cause investigations associated with any component failures to further positive development of CSA discipline. Has robust understanding of CSA discipline fundamentals and manufacturing processes.

Role & Responsibility

 

  • Execute designated tasks involving the planning and implementation of research programs related to development and application of state-of-the-art CSA technologies for customer products, processes and development programs
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to coordinate implementation of new processes and support transition plans to effectively bridge between process revisions
  • Ensure CSA programs and projects results have been validated and thoroughly documented prior to actual production release
  • As assigned, support the development of suppliers to help them meet technical, cost, and delivery goals
  • Stay abreast of all external fuel cell and fuel cell process concepts and technology developments to maintain a leading edge in CSA technology
  • Provide development opportunities for others in the team to help attract and retain high levels of expertise in the CSA organization
  • Mentor newer and less knowledgeable employees in the higher technologies of the field
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members and beyond

Job Requirement - Education & Experience

 

  • BA/BS degree with 4-7+ years of experience
  • MA/MS degree with 2-5+ years of experience
  • PhD degree with 0-2+ years of experience
  • Electrolyzer experience highly preferred
  • Thorough knowledge and know-how of fuel cell and CSA technologies
  • Process and systems understanding and experience, with focus on customer satisfaction
  • Proficiency with codes and standards for fuel cells and other DG (distributed generation) products
  • Strong focus on teamwork and employee development
  • Solid computer/systems analytical skillset, with clear understanding and execution of customer expectations
  • Factory/manufacturing environment experience
  • Clear and compelling oral and written communications
  • Ability and experience working with a diverse group of technical and business-focused individuals and groups, possibly on a global basis

The position described involves on-site work at office/lab in South Windsor, CT. Doosan is committed to growing and supporting efforts associated with hydrogen economy. Work associated with this position will support existing PAFC based technologies and/or focus on exciting, new opportunities related to PEM H2 generation and mobility projects.
