Job Information
Under direction of supervisor and/or Specialist, apply broad instructions to plan, assign and maintain control of plant inventory of all materials, parts, equipment and supplies. Exercise sound judgement to respond to and to resolve inventory discrepancies and determine correct/corrective inventory requirements. Use computer programs to generate data to interpret data and generate relevant reports. Assist supervisor and/or provide technical leadership for the materials team members responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, issuing and transporting (both inside and outside the facility) parts, materials, tools and equipment to assure inventory accuracy. May be required to engage in interstate transportation of parts and materials. Work with other groups and professionals across the business to resolve inventory discrepancies. Conduct, support, assess and determine audit results and inventory discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions. Identify opportunities to improve methods and processes, to best utilize work group skills and to recommend changes to improve overall inventory accuracy and timely movement of parts and materials needed. Properly maintain tools and equipment and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable work environment for self and for others.
Role & Responsibility
- Track assigned parts and materials flow to assess and maintain efficient and accurate materials control and tracking from sources internal & external to the Company, to assure all such materials are properly accounted for as inventory.
- Work with group to assure proper material movement, storage and parts movement procedures and the recording of all parts and materials movements are properly accounted for in the Materials systems.
- Utilize computer programs to enter, retrieve and store information, to generate and interpret data and to make reports.
- Schedule and record metal scrap sent out for reclamation.
- Follow-up to assure corrective actions, preventive maintenance and inventory reconciliation plans are properly carried out.
- Investigate and resolve unusual and unique discrepancies in the inventory and recommend changes to prevent recurrences.
- Monitor input data to assure proper methods are being adhered to, and review records of transactions to locate lost misplaced and unaccounted-for materials and parts for effective cost accountability and inventory reconciliation.
- Seek out and engage in available and needed training and self -development opportunities to obtain new skills with respect to proper inventory control processes and procedures.
- Perform specialized assignments in support of the Materials organization and collaborate effectively with other groups associated with the special assignments.
Job Requirement - Education & Experience
- HS diploma or GED required. Requires wellrounded knowledge of inventory control principles and processes. Utilization of data processing tools and methods, computer programs and auditing practices applicable to scheduling, inventory and production control.
- Certificate (license) Equivalent to specialized training in production control, inventory planning and control, and scheduling.
- 2+ years of experience.
- Work in a factory/manufacturing environment.
- Work with inventory and production control data systems.

- Requires familiarity with manufacturing practices, tooling drawings and specifications.
- Accuracy and detail focused.
- Utilization of data processing tools and methods, computer programs and auditing practices applicable to scheduling, inventory and production control.
