Role & Responsibility

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Project Manager and is a key member of the engineering team.  This senior leadership role is responsible for the development of the next generation power plant and is involved in close interaction with numerous Engineering disciplines, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Operations. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. The position holder must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.  Individual must also be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in order to establish dates and drive tasks to completion.

 

  • Lead all aspects of the implementation of product development processes including Concept Review, Preliminary Design Review, Detailed Design Review, and production incorporation
  • Define Functional Requirements, create Statements of Work, and prepare Requests for Quote and all associated documentation
  • Lead Peer Reviews, FMEA’s, EH&S Reviews, etc. related to new product development
  • Maintain document revision control and document all customer / vendor communication
  • Work closely with external / internal customers to maintain project schedule
  • Establish project timelines, plans, and deliverables to meet overall program objectives

Job Requirement

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior project management experience including ownership of schedule and budget
  • Proficiency with varied manufacturing concepts such as VSM, 3P, Lean, SPC, Capacity Analysis, JIT, MRP, Kanban, TQM, PM, etc.
  • Background in distributed generation/renewable energy a plus, but not necessary
  • Ability to provide concise project updates to management
  • Knowledge of stage gate product development process
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Project
  • Adaptability to complete various tasks as business needs change

 

EDUCATION

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Process, Industrial Engineering, or other related field.
  • PMP certification
