Job Information

Responsible for the leading a group engaged in the product/production testing needs of the Development and Sustaining engineering teams focused on the verification and validation testing of the fuel cell product lines throughout the manufacturing process. Leads and participates in the close interaction and collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines and hourly functions.  Responsible for overall success of the test processes, accurate and available tooling requirements, complete and valid work instruction and documentation, and target achievements on time and at cost. Strong focus on root cause-corrective action to address and resolve all test non-conformances. Has responsibility for entire systems projects and programs, and is accountable for budget, staffing and operational results.

Role & Responsibility

  • Requires deep and broad technical understanding of the Test discipline, focused on test support and development requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong overall business acumen to assure alignment and delivery of test requirements and direction to support and deliver specific business objectives.
  • Assure utilization of root cause techniques to assure optimal problem resolution.
  • Sets challenging technical goals for self and the group, and tracks successes and failures to develop and optimize group performance.
  • Actively seeks out new ideas and viable, creative approaches.
  • Challenges the status quo of current test processes, technologies, systems and practices to achieve continuous improvements.
  • Develops plans that anticipate short and long-term business demands.
  • Works seamlessly with others across geographical, functional and cultural boundaries.
  • Aligns personal performance with team performance and shares credit for team successes, and responsibility for team failures.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching opportunities that will elevate performance of others and the group.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS degree with 10+ years of experience
  • MA/MS degree with 7+ years of experience
  • PhD degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Degree in Engineering field
  • Ability and experience working with a diverse group of technical and business-focused individuals and groups, occasionally on a global basis.

Knowledge & Skill

  • Strong strategic and tactical leadership skills.
  • Robust, advanced technical test process and systems expertise.
  • Leadership experience in a factory/manufacturing environment.
