Job Requirement

 

Under direction of supervisor and/or Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately performing cycle counts, ensuring inventory accuracy, and participating in variance reconciliation activities. Your primary goal will be to maintain an accurate and efficient inventory management process. Operate equipment and vehicles to perform a variety of material movement functions, which may include interstate transportation. May be required to operate heavy-duty equipment to move and position tooling, materials and parts as required. Exercise judgement to respond to and support resolution of inventory discrepancies and help determine correct/corrective inventory requirements. Use computer programs to generate data to interpret data and generate relevant reports.

Role & Responsibility

 

  • Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items in various storage locations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures and schedules.
  • Use inventory management systems and tools to record and document cycle count results, including any discrepancies or variances identified.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Warehouse, Operations, and Finance, to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Assist in the analysis and identification of root causes for inventory discrepancies, recommending process improvements to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Participate in variance reconciliation activities, including investigating and resolving discrepancies between actual inventory levels and recorded inventory quantities.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing and Receiving teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy and cycle count accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to cycle count procedures, variance reconciliation processes, and inventory management best practices.
  • Support ad-hoc inventory-related projects and initiatives as assigned by the Materials Manager.

Education & Experience

 

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Work in a factory/manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to inventory and production control data systems.
  • Requires knowledge of inventory control principles and processes.

Knowledge & Skill

 

  • Proven experience in cycle counting, inventory control, or related roles.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze data accurately.
  • Utilization of data processing tools and methods, computer programs and basic auditing practices applicable to scheduling, inventory and production control.
