Job Information

Perform the electrical and electronic work necessary to install, maintain, calibrate, and repair a variety of electronic and electromechanical systems, devices and components throughout the facility. May concentrate in area of electrical or electronic expertise, however, shall maintain a level of proficiency expected at this level in other areas of responsibility. Assist others as required. Actively participate in process improvement teams, properly maintain tools and equipment, and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable work environment for self and others. 

Role & Responsibility

  • Under direction of supervisor or lead, follow instructions, engineering drawings and specifications, service manuals and applicable electrical codes to plan and complete assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform system installations, maintenance and repair work, and carry out preventive maintenance and service work as required. Make decisions to alter or improvise tooling or sequence of operations to complete tasks in the absence of clear cut procedures and precedence.
  • Work on and assist others in system operations, care, use and maintenance of equipment, and support others on special assignments. May work singularly on the less complex systems and less complex tasks.
  • Follow standard practices and procedures to select and utilize available tooling, and to plan and perform the sequence of operations to complete the work.
  • Assure Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) rules are properly applied in all required situations on all required equipment.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed in this job description, and will work with and may lead others to support department objectives and needs and to develop individual skills of self and others.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Equivalent to 4 years of HS and a 4-year apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Work in a factory/manufacturing environment
  • Computer and systems experience essential
  • Broad knowledge of electronics and electrical theory, including AC/DC, solid-state theory, polyphase power, and a thorough understanding of computer operation and code mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics, and interdependence in control systems
  • May be required to provide training and to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications required

Knowledge & Skill

  • Work from complex schematics and technical materials and a variety of test equipment
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic systems, equipment and tooling
  • Utilize math through trigonometry
