Job Information
Direction and support of the planning, design, configuration, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures and other facilities. Provide technical and hands-on direction and performance of predictive and preventive maintenance, upkeep and repair of equipment and infrastructure used for fuel cell manufacture and assembly. Collaborate with other employees, both hourly and salaried, supporting a variety of plant service functions and building and equipment maintenance. Provide cross-functional guidance and expertise with a spectrum of engineering disciplines, department managers, and hourly maintenance and manufacturing employees. Responsible for communication and coordination with external electrical and mechanical contractors as required for specific facility and equipment needs.
Role & Responsibility
- Responsible for guiding Facilities group with focus on troubleshooting, code interpretations, safety and on-time, on-cost task and project completion.
- Set high expectations and goals, encouraging others to excel in on-time performance and quality delivery of tasks and services.
- Judiciously weigh the pros and cons of various alternatives.
- Contribute to the company by advancing the level of knowledge in all aspects of facilities.
- Ability to balance and shift multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and priority, without jeopardy to any project.
- Sound determination of when and where contract services are essential to meet plans and needs of the business.
- Ability to respond appropriately to facility and maintenance emergencies created by such issues as weather conditions, power outages, HVAC problems, equipment failures, etc.
- Competent performance of tasks and skills needed to maximize successful completion of all duties and assignments on time, on cost.
- Balance consistency with flexibility.
- Commitment to sharing knowledge.
- Ability to clearly and accurately understand the employees, their skills and abilities, in support of the customers’ needs.
- Mentally and verbally translate customers’ layman’s terminology on Facilities matters into Facilities terminology and assure proper understanding of business needs.

Job Requirement
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree with 2-5+ years of experience.
- MA/MS with 0-2+ years of experience.
- Trades training and certifications a plus.
- Work with 3rd party contractors to assure work is performed in accord with HyAxiom standards.
- Experience working with and leading multiple technical trades projects and tasks including mechanical, electrical and calibration.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement and changing priorities.
- Coaching and development of others.
Knowledge & Skill:
- Accountable for simple and more involved projects with significant scope and complexity.
- Direction of others in the functional group.
- Strong mechanical/electrical/maintenance knowledge of controls, processes and equipment used to support and deliver facilities business needs.
- Knowledge of waste handling and spill response.
- Ability to balance multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and priority.
- Project management experience.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
