Job Information
Design, development, interpret, recommend, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety/environmental regulations and company policy. In conjunction with Workers’ Compensation, Occupational Health and Safety, and all other environmental engineering requirements, with best practice considerations.
Role & Responsibility
- Assure successful completion of all safety site audits/reviews, and generate timely report-outs to appropriate audiences, with full analysis/sound recommendations
- Conduct hazard analyses for all new products and processes, with full focus on EH&S compliance
- Provide professional direction/guidance and support to EH&S team and all employees on safety issues/requirements, and during incident investigations
- Conduct periodic scheduled safety meetings and training sessions
- Develop/deploy regular, open communications with the workforce at all levels regarding safety-focused current, timely issues/matters and process requirements
- Support development and control/delivery of the EH&S Management System (EHSMS)
- Create/update internal safety policies and environmental practices/policies as needed
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify waste reduction opportunities and new safety initiatives to create a culture where safety is a core value
Job Requirement-Education and Experience
- BA/BS with 3-7+ years of experience
- MA/MS with 1-5+ years of experience
- EH&S-related training/certifications are a plus
- Degree in Environmental Sciences or Industrial Hygiene preferred
- Pursuit/delivery of protection of the employees from all incidents/injuries/illnesses, concurrent protection of the company by assuring full compliance to local/state/federal requirements
- Budget understanding/cost control focus
- Waste handling/manifesting/spill response
- Provides cross-functional guidance/expertise
- Provides tactical/strategic direction for EH&S systems/projects and programs
- Strong project management experience
