The Calibration Technician is responsible for maintenance, testing and repair of instrumentation and equipment used for fuel cell manufacturing and testing. Equipment used for life safety and building infrastructure support will fall in this incumbents’ responsibility. Detailed records must be maintained for audit purposes, so attention to detail is required. Coordination with external calibration suppliers for services will be required. This position involves close interaction with numerous engineering disciplines, purchasing and hourly functions. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. The Calibration Technician must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement is required. Role & Responsibility

  • Responsible for safe, efficient completion of the calibration process in a high quality and repeatable manner.
  • Work with production personnel to reduce calibration frequencies and streamline external calibration needs.
  • Complete all required calibration documentation including a computerized calibration system, paper records, and calibration stickers.
  • Identify efficiency and quality improvement opportunities.
  • Confer with Test Engineering staff concerning tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Support electromechanical troubleshooting of product and test equipment.
  • Participate in EH&S reviews and investigation of component failures.
  • Provide training for new employees as required.
  • Quality Technician/Inspector tasks as necessary.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

  • Associate technical degree desired
  • Experience in a high volume production environment preferred
  • Experience with reading electrical and mechanical P&IDs

Knowledge & Skill

  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Ability to solve complex issues with minimal support
  • Working knowledge of calibration prinicpals, practices and tooling
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Proficient in reading and writing
  • Hands on mechanical aptitude
  • Adaptability to work various tasks as business needs change
  • Work independently, and proactively
  • Ability to determine calibration requirements on various test and monitoring equipment
