The Senior Tax Accountant reports ro the EMEA Tax Director and  is responsiblie for the management and oversight of quarterly tax accounting processes; statutory tax provision; corporate tax compliance support for th EMEA region; IFRS reporting and consolidation;  transfer pricing compliance support; cash tax management; deferred tax and gereral tax team support.

Role & Responsibility

Tax Accounting

Management and oversight of quarterly tax accounting process including:

  • Planning timeable and deliverables for quarterly tax process with internal and external advisors, auditors and global headquarters.
  • Enters data into the Global Integrator and which are used to calculate the quarterly and annual tax postings and assistance and education of local accountants where necessary.
  • Preparation and monthly reconciliation of current and deferred tax postings made by the EMEA entities.
  • Liaising with external advisors in preparation of tax disclosures for statutory accounts.
  • Coordinates quarterly tax calculation between the external tax advisors and the internal tax and finance teams
  • Communication with the Korean HQ team.
  • Manages and administrates the tax reporting system and liase with external service provider to keep the system up-to-date and resolve issues related to the report desing or data inconsistency. 

Statutory Tax Provision

  • Prepares the tax provision calculation for local GAAP financial statements of EMEA entities.
  • Works closely with the STATutory leader on the financial statements and provide inputs as necessary.

Corporate Tax Compliance Support for EMEA region

  • Supports Preparation/Filing of the Corporate Tax Returns of all the entities located within the EMEA Region (20 entities under the scope of responsibility) ;
  • Preparation of all the mandatory Corporate Tax documentation for all of the different EMEA entities;
  • Coordinates the information flow between the external advisors and internal finance teams;
  • Manages the SharePoint drive up to date and uploads all filed tax returns.

IFRS Reporting and consolidation

  • Works closely with the Group Accounting leader and provides tax disclosures in the format required by the Koran HQ finance team;
  • Works closely with the external audit teams during the IFRS quarterly and annual audit reviews;
  • Works closely with Korean HQ finance and tax team and provides required information on timely basis.

Transfer Pricing Compliance Support

Support the EMEA Tax Manager in relation to all transfer pricing matters, including:

  • CBCR reprting;
  • Preparatin of TP documentation;
  • R&D csts sharing caculations;
  • Quarterly TP mnitoring.

Cash Tax Management

  • Responsible for Cash tax management within the EMEA region;  
  • Putting processes in place for the day-to-day management of the corporate tax matters prepayments
  • Creates the payment orders to Treasury team
  • Prepares tax payment calendar for EMEA group for each year and update based on lates filings/assessments.
  • Works closely with EMEA treasury team.

Deferred Tax - Balances Sheet Reviews

  • Balance sheet reviews of DBEM Group entities indentifying risks and opportunities.

General Tax team Support

Supports the tax team in all other administrative areas, including:

  • raising Purchase Orders,
  • completing Goods Receipts,
  • manages Tax SharePoint site

Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant Tax qualification.
  • Experience Required: Minimum two years post qualified experience.
  • Travel Requirement: <10%
  • Technical experience of IFRS and other GAAP’s.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to senior management.
  • Good understand of deferred tax principals and mechanism.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to deliver change and continuous improvement in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate across functionally and to different levels of management and staff.
  • Advanced excel skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • SOX Experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with other managers to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Statutory accounts preparation.
  • Experience (not essential but beneficial)
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and coordinate the activities of other professional staff in a finance organization.
  • Oracle/SAP and BPC reporting systems.
