Position Summary: 

Plan supply and order parts in a timely manner to meet build schedule requirements while maintaining Optimal inventory levels. Configure MRP system to ensure seamless product supply and Optimal Inventory Levels. Managing and solving issues in regard to Deliveries, Quality, and Payment. Develop Improvement action plans. Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and perform define corrective action plans to avoid reoccurrence. Take care of KEY suppliers portfolio and in case of bottlenecks, ensure fair supply / prioritization based on agreed allocation.

Role & Responsibility

Planning:

  • On behalf of the plant, build-up a leveled procurement program per part/supplier, according to MRP (Material Requirements Planning) calculation, taking into both plant needs and suppliers’ capacity. Responsible for approx. 40 suppliers which means approx. 40-60M Euro annual spend.
  • Provide a forecast and net demand to suppliers.
  • Release orders to suppliers and ensure visibility on the ETA to all upstream stakeholders in the systems/reports needed.
  • React on changes in demand and process regularly rescheduling of orders, if needed.
  • Consultation with Production Schedulers regarding availability of production lines.
  • Create and maintain supplier Forecast and analyze larger forecast changes.
  • Lead investigations on high-risk supplier topics
  • Collaborate with the Transport Team to synchronize and optimize both transport and supply plans, and so contribute to transportation cost management, ensure the right account affectation for exceptional freights follow up.
  • Follow-up the execution of the plans, raise and manage alerts when needed; Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule.
  • Ensure that unexpected quality issues (non-conformity) are under control and without any consequence for production. 
  • Ensure that purchase orders supply statement is up to date + focus strongly on shipments that are past due which might risk production build schedule. 
  • Collaborate with the plant, sourcing, and transportation team to continuously reduce inventories through regular reviews of Safety Stock, Lead Time and Minimum Order Quantity settings in ERP system.
  • Ensure Master data accuracy related to procurement process, assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
  • Manage Overstock and Obsolete articles in cooperation with SIOP Managers, Demand Planners and Buyers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time materials to the production line, as and when required, avoiding disruption to production.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time; visits planning can be set up for selected suppliers.
  • Identify Improvement opportunities and negotiate with suppliers Lead Times reductions, MOQ reductions and other initiatives, that allow to improve material availability and reduce inventory 
  • Taking on projects for the continuous development of logistics processes and automatization from conceptualization to implementation and stabilization.
  • Support supplier crisis management.
  • Manage and follow up action plan to mitigate the risk.

Claims:

  • Solve delivery issues with Suppliers (delay, quantity), and Logistics Providers.
  • Handle claims and goods returns.

Inventory:

  • Manage inventory levels to achieve forecasted turn rates and ensure uninterrupted production
  • Regularly control inventory level of own supplier portfolio and drive actions to achieve Optimal inventory level.
  • Regularly review Safety stock set up after analyzing changes in Lead time/ Minimum order quantity, On time delivery performance and Forecast accuracy.

KPI’s:
Report Monthly the following KPIs and define, and coordinate action plans to ensure deviations are corrected and KPI targets are achieved:

  •  Production Incomplete / Lost Machines
  • Gap to optimal inventory level (OIL)
  • On Time Shipment (OTS)
  • On Time Delivery (OTD)
  • PO Confirmations in %
  • Safety Stock NOK %
  • Inventory Days of Supply 
  • Obsolete inventory value
     

 

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, economics, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of logistics analysis or planning experience in a manufacturing or procurement environment.
  • Ability to plan, think ahead, and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities. 
  • Negotiation and communication skills, influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably Oracle.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, another European language would be a benefit.
  • Geographic flexibility within Europe is an advantage.

Difficulties & area of focus when carrying out job (position):

  • Ability to efficiently act when build schedule is increased or decreased on very short notice, to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Organize expedite deliveries when needed.
  • Make sure that what was purchased arrives on schedule and meets the purchaser’s specifications.
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure continued supply to production whilst ensuring Bobcat inventory level are maintained within pre-established objectives.
  • Ability to act independently, and resolve critical supply situations, working together with Suppliers, Buyers and Logistics teams.
