Job Information

Individuals at this level have developed extensive experience across one or more engineering disciplines and are able to work on their own initiative, or work as part of a team, under general levels of supervision. They will lead project teams of skilled engineers and take on a technical advisory role as well as coordinating the relationship with engineering discipline leads and other relevant functional areas in support of project delivery. They will define and advise on customer engineering and design requirements and independently evaluate the impact of technical solutions. They understand standard engineering and/or design techniques and procedures and co-ordinate teams of project engineers/discipline engineers to produce quality and timely technical solutions & outputs which meet the needs of internal/external customers. Individuals will play an integral role in client and supplier management and therefore require a solid grounding in the broad range of Doosan’s services, processes and technologies. Roles at this level require a broader application of expertise and depth of experience than at the preceding level.

Role & Responsibility

  1. Execution: Define and reform engineering tasks related to Business Operating Procedures (BOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) and act as an expert project resource. Develop familiarity with project contractual and commercial deliverables and take lead role on communicating these to discipline leads/engineers to ensure the company can deliver on time and profitability (margin).


  1. Governance: Review project plan and define schedules for all engineering activities within project scope, establishing mechanisms to keep track of progress and input into project reporting (including client reporting), as required to maintain a focus on delivery to time, cost and schedule.


  1. Innovation: Actively seek technical and innovative solutions to problems. Participate in, and be able to lead on, project reviews/lessons learned in order to identify continuous improvement opportunities and modify work practices.


  1. Communication:  Utilise an extensive internal and external (client) relationship network of key stakeholders (DHI, Project Management, Project Controls Construction, Commissioning) and provide an expert technical support in order to influence customer decision making.


  1. People Development: Take accountability for their own personal development record as part of Doosan’s talent management ethos. Lead project engineering teams and take a supervisory role with less experienced members of staff related to their area in order to develop technical skills and of talent within the organisation.

Job Requirement

  1. BSc/BEng in a discipline appropriate to one or more Engineering, Science or Technical specialisms is essential. Accredited post graduate training that would satisfy the requirements of professional registration (e.g. CEng) of a professional institution (e.g. IMechE)
  2. Significant and appropriate experience in one or more Engineering disciplines with a proven record of achievement in delivery of technical solutions in a project management environment
  3. In-depth knowledge and application of Business Operating Procedures appropriate to allotted tasks and associated documentation
  4. In-depth knowledge and application of the requirements of UK/EU(or equivalent in-country) Laws and Regulations applicable to services and products associated with Competency(s)
  5. In-depth knowledge and application of Project Management  theories, methodologies, processes and procedures
  6. Extensive knowledge of Doosan’s operating context and wider industry (including general issues that prevail in the industry)
