Acting as the procurement lead on major high value projects you will be responsible for;
 

Supplier Sourcing


•    Developing and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure that they provide high-quality products at competitive prices
•    Support use of SME Suppliers

 

Supplier Qualification


•    Issue and manage Supplier Qualification Process with assigned suppliers

 

Bidding & negotiation


•    Read, understand and abstract technical information from drawings and specifications to procure materials and services 
•    Determine the best sources of supply for each product or service needed by the company, based on price, quality, delivery time, and other criteria
•    Issue RFX’s to suppliers via Scanmarket Tool (eProcurement)
•    Negotiation to Award of suppliers
•    Inform non-awarded suppliers of general reasons for non-award (to promote further opportunity in future)
•    Support Business Development where required to assist in estimating costs for Sales Offers

 

Order Administration and Coordination


•    Produce and issue purchase orders in line with construction programming
•    Desktop expediting of Supplier supplies including all required documentation
•    Working with shipping companies to ensure that orders are delivered on time
•    Leading any claim negotiations relating to Purchase Orders
•    Ensure all PO’s are suitably finalised
•    Ensure Supplier Performance assessments are completed in a timely manner


Project Management


•    Produce and maintain Project specific Procurement  Strategies
•    Produce and maintain Project specific Project Execution Plan (PEP)
•    Assess and produce reports on total project purchases against set budgets
•    Provide cost and schedule input and reports to Project Controls

 

Supplier Performance Reporting


•    Ensure compliance of Suppliers, Colleagues and self with ABL Code of Conduct
•    Ability to communicate at all levels
•    Any other duties as reasonably required

 

Applications are eagerly sought from candidates with;

 

•    A demonstrable track record in procurement management.
•    Experience of Used to working with ERP systems (Oracle or MS Nav preferred)
•    Familiarity with procurement software (e.g. Scanmarkets or other eProcurement Tools)
•    MCIPS or equivalent

 

Experience of major Engineering or Construction Projects from industries such as Power Generation, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Oil and Gas would be highly beneficial
