The Process Engineer will be a highly motivated individual responsible for Process Engineering & Design on projects, who will contribute to the continuing evaluation of the Process Engineering processes and procedures The Process Engineer will be capable of leading small projects and teams, working with the Altrad Babcock systems and delivering projects to a high technical standard and quality.  

About you:

  • You will have a Chemical Engineering  Degree or equivalent
  • Detailed experience of Hydrocarbon Sector and/ or Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Sectors Process Safety in Design
  • A successful track record of successful delivery in a project environment.
  • Previous experience in the Process industry
  • Good understanding and experience of Process Engineering design with Hazardous Process Industries including Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas and Chemical Industries

Role & Responsibility

  1. Execution: Verifies and approves technical documents related to Business Operating Procedures (BOPs)/ Work Instructions (WIs) and provides technical leadership on projects, ensuring codes and standards are being used effectively and less experienced Engineers are supervised. Develop work scopes in response to customer needs and prepare man-hour estimates/ schedules/ MPP for small and medium project proposals which will enhance company turnover and profitability (margin).


  1. Governance: Modify and write BOPs as well as carrying out discipline audits and benchmark best practice to ensure continued compliance and provide extensive support to the Section Manager for competence assurance.


  1. Innovation: Drive innovative technology solutions and contribute to company-wide best practice in order to identify continuous improvement opportunities and establish work practices.


  1. Communication:  Utilise an extensive internal and external (client) relationship network of key stakeholders (DHI, product Management) and provide an expert technical support with innovative and differentiating solutions in order to influence customer decision making.


  1. People Development: Take accountability for their own personal Professional Development Record as part of Doosan’s talent management ethos. Provide technical and functional leadership, taking a supervisory role with less experienced members of staff in order to develop technical skills and behavioural competencies which will foster the next level of talent within the organisation.

Job Requirement

  1. Principal Engineer - BSc/BEng in a discipline appropriate to one or more Engineering, Science or Technical specialisms is essential. Accredited post graduate training that would satisfy the requirements of  professional registration (e.g. CEng) of a professional institution (e.g. IMechE)

Specialist Technician - HNC/HND or vocational qualification (preferably in a related subject(s) such as Mathematics or Science) or equivalent, significant and related professional experience; training that would satisfy the requirements of professional registration (e.g. IEng) of a professional institution (e.g. IMechE)

  1. Extensive and appropriate experience in one or more Engineering disciplines with a proven record of achievement and delivering fit for purpose technical solutions
  2. In-depth knowledge and application of Business Operating Procedures appropriate to allotted tasks and associated documentation
  3. In-depth Knowledge and application of the requirements of UK/EU Laws and Regulations applicable to services and products associated with Competency(s)
  4. Extensive knowledge of Doosan’s operating context  and wider industry (including general issues that prevail in the industry)
