We are currently recruiting for a Lead/Principal Cost Engineer to join our Process & Energy sector in Renfrew. The purpose of this role is to provide the business line with complete and accurate cost control data on a regular basis. Applicants should have extensive experience in an engineering and/or construction company environment dealing with EPC type projects within the Petrochemical or Pharmaceutical sector, involving the financial, cost and contract control of engineering design, procurement of materials, equipment and services, manufacture, delivery and site implementation and construction.  Experience working with Oracle products and awareness on planning principles also advantageous.


Key duties:


  • Manage and report costs for a large scope including robust management of change and variance analysis
  • As required by the Project Manager, attend internal and external project progress reviews
  • Issue project cost reports in accordance with the requirements of the contract, including internal and client reports, cash flow forecast, margin forecast and analysis, Manpower Projection Plan
  • Be a focal point for the Manage a Change Control Program, proactively identifying variations to scope and execution strategy in order to optimise control and margin
  • Participate in quality improvement activities e.g. by reviewing and updating Work Instructions and Templates
  • Support the client invoicing process
  • Support Project Manager with any Project Controls management queries as required

Candidates should be qualified to at least ONC/HNC/HND level in a discipline relating to engineering, contract, quantity surveying or financial administration management. Experience working with Oracle and EcoSys is desirable.
