Joining Altrad Babcock as Principal Mechanical Engineer you'll be a key member of the Engineering team, working closely with colleagues to ensure that our world class approach to engineering provides added value to achieving success. You'll provide technical governance and execution, producing and verifying design calculations and technical reports to substantiate mechanical design to industry standards and regulations including PED, PSSR and CDM.  Alongside this you'll display excellent people management skills. Tasks faced in the Principal Mechanical Engineer role will include taking responsibility as Lead Engineer in project delivery or supporting the Lead Engineer in project delivery as discipline specialist. You will provide support to the Project Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager - Nuclear – on areas such as continuous improvement, development and implementation of new execution methodologies or supporting new lines of business and assisting in the development of key staff including the coaching and mentoring of Discipline Technician Trainees and Graduates.

So if you hold a degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, potentially alongside Chartered Engineer status, with in-depth knowledge of international standards and mechanical design codes (i.e. BS EN 13480, B31.1, ASME VIII, PD5500 and Eurocode etc.) and a passion for developing the engineers around you, this is the role for you.
