Position Summary: 

Reporting to the EMEA IT Director this is a key management role in the IT organisation. Working with the IT Director on day to day operational responsibility for IDS Delivery Services teams in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa operating region.

This role requires a highly technical individual who will be the technical lead and Manager for Solution Architect, Business Intelligence, Global Middleware, the Oracle team and ERP implementation.

The IT  Manager must be proactive and capable of using their initiative to lead improvements when appropriate.

Role & Responsibility

Leadership & Execution:

  • Responsible for managing the delivery and execution of relevant parts of the EMEA IDS day-to-day operations.
  • Lead the relevant parts of EMEA IDS Delivery Organisation across the region.
  • Manages day to day production support for relevant Application environments.
  • Co-ordinates and works with the business to ensure all production changes are correctly prioritised and implemented with minimal risk.
  • Prioritises and schedules work activities in the IT Delivery teams.
  • Leverage resources (people, process, and technology) across the EMEA IT teams as required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive leadership in EMEA business units and functions ensuring the IT delivery services provided meet their requirements and expectations.
  • Manage career development of his/her EMEA IDS delivery staff including development of training plans and identifying staff for promotions.
  • Recommends the planning, staffing, and funding requirements for Projects requiring the use of his/her
  • EMEA IDS Delivery teams.
  • Assist/support the IDS
  • Director to coordinate communication throughout the EMEA IT organisation.

 

Vendor Management:

  • Working with the IDS director manages IT supplier relationships and with Regional and Global IDS teams to establish SLA metrics and reporting methodologies

 

Strategy & Standardization:

  • Provide leadership in the development of value-driven technology strategies, methods, and standards
  • Define, implement and ‘enforce’ the use of best practices, world class technology and proven methodologies, leveraging from corporate policies/standards (ITIL, PRINCE2, etc)

 

Operational:

  • Identifies and escalates operational issues/risks when they cannot be resolved
  • Improve the performance of the relevant IT Delivery teams and the availability metrics for their services
  • Reporting to business/IT leadership on progress.
  • Organised and disciplined prioritisation of initiatives, taking local and global needs and corporate strategy into account.

 

Solution Architect:

  • Map business requirements to existing architecture and identify new technology requirements
  • Identify and interactwith stakeholders to make sure their needs are being met
  • Define Application
  • Roadmaps including Upgrades

 

 

Job Requirement

  • Education & Qualification:  Information Technology - Bachelors Degree / Allow Equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communications – clear, concise, and compelling.
  • Strong problem solving  skills - experience solving complex business & technology problems in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Effective decision-making skills – at ease with making decisions with imperfect information
  • Excellent Leadership and people management/development skills
  • Vendor Management
  • Senior Manager level presence - at ease interacting with senior managers in a global corporate environment
  • Understands business drivers and how technology complements organization goals
  • Experience: 7>10 years
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of work experience in IT or a related field  - 3 years or more of management experience
  • Customer facing experience and comfortable in challenging the business customer to truly understand and provide detailed requirements to arrive at the best possible solution
  • Familiarity   with ITIL management  frameworks and processes  - including program and project management best practices (Prince2/PMI, etc)
  • Highly technical individual - technical lead for Solution Architect, Business Intelligence, Global Middleware, Oracle team and ERP implementation.
  • Experience managing a teams or division of 15 or more staff
  • Experience managing IT supply chain in an outsourced environment – e.g. supplier management experience.
  • Global Breadth: Multi-Country (> One Country)
  • Travel Standard: 10 - 24 %
