The Lean Continuous Improvement Lead is responsible for leading and executing Lean Six Sigma initiatives, with our Supplier Partners, which drive measurable business results in Quality, Cost and Demand Management.  Ability to conduct fact-based analyses and problem solving; along with developing actionable recommendations to achieve business results are key success factors. Position reports into the Global Procurement function but will be required to work cross-functionally with our direct material suppliers, procurement, component engineering and operations to establish strategic and comprehensive continuous improvement strategies which are aligned to Bobcat’s business objectives.

Role & Responsibility

  • Manages targeted Lean Six Sigma (LSS) initiatives in support of Bobcat’s quality, cost, and delivery goals.
  • Supports Bobcat’s Supplier VIP program (Value Innovation Partnership). 
  • Provides training and tactical coaching in LSS methods to internal stakeholders as well as Bobcat’s supply base.
  • Applies statistical analysis tools, such as Minitab, in the problem-solving process.
  • Leads Gemba Kaizen events at targeted suppliers which positively impact quality, cost, and delivery.  
  • Leads 3P (Production Preparedness Process) workshops for target supplier NPD programs.
  • Works in collaboration with cost estimating to identify savings opportunities driven by LSS productivity improvements.
  • Hands-on problem solving – defining risk and mitigation actions.
  • Reports out to Procurement leadership on project status and results. 

Job Requirement

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Blackbelt certified – Lean certification a plus.
  • 7-10 years plant manufacturing experience.
  • 5-7 years leading Gemba Kaizen/3P workshops.
  • Advanced application of lean methods (5S, Waste Reduction, One Piece Flow, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems).
  • Demonstrated track record of lean transformation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards and methodologies: ISO, IATF, APQP and PPAP. 
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Location flexible.
