Sr Trade Compliance Manager

Job Information

The Sr. Trade Compliance Manager will lead the Doosan Bobcat Trade Compliance Operations team and will report to the Director of Trade Compliance. This role will be critical in ensuring the needs of the business are met while mitigating risk, reducing spend, and maximizing efficiency through a rapidly changing regulatory landscape. 

This role will focus on proper oversight of a centralized inbox, effective US and CA broker management, develop a sustained HTS and ECCN classification process, oversee cross-border operations, maintain a free trade program, collect trade data while sharing the metrics that tell the story of trade compliance, develop and lead a robust audit program, be responsible for export management program, and maintain strong relationships with other functions within the company,

This role will be a change agent that will focus on creating standard work to ensure consistent, quality results are delivered by the Trade Compliance Operations team. This position will be responsible to help grow the members of the operations team through engagement, stretch assignments, and developing a fully cross functional team. 

This position is open to a location of Minneapolis, MN; Statesville, NC; or West Fargo, ND. It offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility to split time between the office and home.
 

Role & Responsibility

• Manage, develop, and engage a team of trade compliance analysts and together maintain a robust trade compliance program
• Contribute to the execution of compliance roadmap and strategic planning
• Support the business to resolve daily export, import and regulatory inquiries
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into simple statements and propose/develop practical business solutions
• Actively support and participate in cross-functional teams

Job Requirement

•    Education Required: Bachelor's Degree.
•    Certified Customs Specialist/Certified Export Specialist and/or Licensed Custom Broker preferred.
•    Experience Required: 
o    7+ years of relevant trade compliance experience and 
o   5+ years of relevant leadership experience 
•    Travel Required: <25%

 Required Skills and experience:
o    In-depth understanding of various trade-related topics such as classification, valuation, Incoterms, recordkeeping, auditing, country of origin, duty optimization/Free Trade Agreements, Buy American Act, US export control, US & CA broker management, etc.
o    Accomplished leadership experience with a focus on strong communication, ability to establish trust, effective delegator, and to consistently deliver results. 
o    Must have critical thinking skills, excellent research and analytical skills, strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and be detail oriented.
o    Proficiency with ACE.

Preferred Skills and experience:
o    Trade compliance experience within a manufacturing environment.
o    Familiarity with Oracle and SAP ERP systems.
o    Proficiency with Trade Compliance software, i.e., e2open and/or SAP GTS.
