This is a 1st shift opportunity! First shift runs Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm CST. 


The Team Lead will lead the day-to-day and oversee one or multiple assembly lines at our Johnson Creek factory! 

Role & Responsibility

Ensure compliance to safety goals and objectives.  Lead by example.

  • Conduct monthly safety/quality training 
  • Ensure environmental, health and safety rules and procedures are followed.  Assist in conducting safety audits.  Maintain and organize a clean work area.

Manage quality of finished product for your line(s)

  • Conduct random quality audits on the line.  Complete reworks, verify and sign off.
  • Reject parts daily to non-conforming tables with clear description of nonconformity
  • Identify quality issues thru data collection affecting product 
  • Implement quality improvements to the product, assembly line and processes

Manage hourly pace for assembly line(s) based on line balance

  • Maintain daily production reports as required and update all white boards for line(s)
  • Report labor activities and/or manufacturing cycle time discrepancies
  • Manage situations that threaten efficient production.  Seek support if needed.
  • Schedule overtime to maintain daily output to meet build schedule and monthly build schedule completion.
  • Plan and recommend build schedule changes to maximize efficiency in advance and communicate plan to other departments.

Identify and implement continuous improvements.

  • Coordinate engineering changes to the assembly line(s).  Update work instructions, label bins.
  • Coordinate pilot activities with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering
  • Develop and drive improvement projects by using the seven core values
  • Complete 5S/Lean projects for your line(s).  Communicate the plan and drive results.

Train assemblers to TWI methodology and Standard Work process

  • Refine and document standard work and key points in assembly process to improve flow of product 
  • Train/ cross train assemblers through Just In Time and Job Methodology

Maintain positive and constructive relations with all employees

  • Daily communication with the teams 
  • Train and orientate new employees (job specific)
  • Assist Administrator with weekly payroll data 
  • Write and administer annual performance reviews
  • Assist with personnel issue
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirement

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred. 
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment. 
  • Familiarity with product and its functionality.
  • Must have ability to know all assembly stations and to train new operators on them. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail - must be thorough.
  • Attitude - Must possess a ‘can do’ attitude and must be able to work with people.
  • Motivate people in a positive manner.
  • Ability to work required overtime.
  • Strong work ethic a must.
  • Strong PC Skills.
  • Operate forklifts.
  • Lead by example - must be safety conscious.
  • Must have good decision-making skills and strong interpersonal skills.


Physical Requirement

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequent finger tightening of nuts into hydraulic hoses/tubes (finger tight) and finish with wrench tightening.
  • 4-10 times a cycle (varying from ½ hr. to 6 hrs.) using an impact wrench to tighten nuts and bolts.
  • Frequent use of a wrench to tighten nuts and bolts.
  • Occasional use of hoist.
  • Occasional/frequent reaching inside of lawnmower frame.
  • Occasional use of hammer to tap parts in place.
  • Standing, walking and occasional squatting walking.
