Job Information
In this role, you will serve in an advisory capacity to manufacturing, engineering, and/or purchasing departments using knowledge of methods and materials in specialized field or general manufacturing in order to optimize safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.
Role & Responsibility
Process Analysis
- Analysis of time and motion, methods, estimating, process engineering and plant layout for facility to ensure balanced methods and available capacity to meet customer demand.
Oversee factory manufacturing processes in terms of their associated cost, time, ergonomic, quality, and quantity factors.
Approve changes, prepare capital justifications, and direct the design and development of new manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials to contribute to the company’s short more effectively- and long-term economic objectives.
Oversee manufacturing changes, associated operating work instructions, and the training of operators on these changes.
Develop budget and justification for the procurement of new machines and equipment. Select, order equipment, and oversee its installation. Project the year over year spend and prioritize capital projects. Train and direct subordinates on equipment selection, installation and managing budget of projects. Assist with Annual Operations Plan (AOP) planning.
Track project requisitions and purchase orders to ensure spend is within allotted budget.
Oversee changes to routings, development of new Manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and costing of new products. Relay effects of these changes to operations and finance.
Manage scope change process.
Review and guide new product development with respect to design for manufacturing and assembly.
Problem Solving
- Produce, publish, and vault complete documentations for all tools.
Review engineering designs for the purpose of estimating tool and manufacturing cost. Recommend design changes to maximize economical manufacturing and manufacturing planned processes. Deny design changes, when necessary, by providing appropriate information to design on the impact on manufacturing.
Prepare evaluations of, and justification for, the procurement of new machines and equipment. Select and order equipment, oversee its installation and training of employees.
Assist engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing personnel in problem solving activities related to assigned area for product support.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor of Science Degree with 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering role.
- Product and industry knowledge is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred with Green Belt or Black Belt training or certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Travel Standard < 10%.
