As a Cost Analyst, you will ensure that accurate costs are maintained for the use in inventory valuation for products manufactured in the Doosan Bobcat Gwinner, ND production facility.  You will provide financial analysis relative to productivity improvements, factory spending, manufacturing variances, standard costs, and inventory management. In addition, you will assist in the planning and coordinating for the physical inventory, and in the planning and creation of the yearly standards update process.

Role & Responsibility

  • Provide financial analysis relative to productivity improvements, factory spending, manufacturing variances, standard costs and inventory management.
  • Monthly reconciliation of the standard cost set to the current cost set (Bill of Materials review).
  • Analyze ECN's for impact on product costs, margins, and plant efficiencies.
  • Assist in the monthly closing process including journal entry preparation and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Provide financial analysis related to Obsolescence.  Prepare monthly reserves and roll-forward files for obsolete parts.
  • Monthly tracking of capital projects and fixed assets.
  • Assist in the planning and creation of the yearly standards update process. 
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of the physical inventory.
  • Effectively work with internal and external auditors.
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years’ experience preferred in financial or cost accounting.  
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, cycle counting, physical inventory and cost accounting.
  • Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with standard costing method preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite competency, including strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Travel required: <10%.
