Job Information

The Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for generating product reliability requirements/metrics, decomposing requirements to component levels, estimating system reliability through modeling, identifying the high-risk components/subsystems, and performing Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) to minimize risks. Facilitate Failure Mode/Effect Analysis (FMEA), lead Relentless Root Cause Analysis (RRCA) and develop standard work/practices to incorporate reliability into the product development processes. Effectively collaborate to support product development processes to achieve Reliability-focused designs, design changes/processes, and work to actively promote a strong Reliability foundation across the organization.

Role & Responsibility

  • Work with Business Development/Engineering to establish key Reliability metrics for new products
  • Model component/system level Reliability/Maintainability using modeling platforms recognized across the industry
  • Lead Life Data Analysis, Block Diagram builds/Reliability Growth Analysis
  • Integrate reliability tasks based on ISO 9001:2015 into existing product development processes
  • Develop Accelerated Life Test (ALT) plans to estimate/demonstrate reliability of components
  • Identify risks to reliability requirements during product development process and continually update compliance to requirements as design matures
  • Effectively/actively participate in Design Reviews and critique material from a compliance to reliability perspective
  • Utilize Relentless Root Cause Analysis (RRCA) techniques to assess failures/identify corrective actions
  • Drive/maintain Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Hazard Analysis for products/processes
  • Generate reports on Reliability performance for Engineering leadership

Job Requirement-Education and Experience

  • BS degree in Engineering with 5-8+ years of experience
  • MS degree in Engineering with 3-5+ years of experience (preferred)
  • REC or CRE is valued. (Reliability Engineering Certificate, or Certified Reliability Engineer)
  • Full/deep knowledge of the fundamental of reliability engineering
  • Effective utilization of reliability software such as ReliaSoft, or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-standard reliability metrics/tools
  • Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Action techniques/tools
  • Reliability modeling/prediction
  • Multiple years of industrial reliability engineering performance/experience
  • Leadership/participation in work teams assigned to a project or program with a reliability engineering element or focus
