Job Information
Responsible for managing country payroll(s), ensuring accurate and timely processing for employees within the specified country(s) policy and procedure. This role involves managing the end to end payroll process including maintenance of payroll records, accurate and timely administration and reporting, calculating wages, addressing payroll discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Accountable for taking the lead in updating key stakeholders about legislation changes and the impact on the business, policy and processes. Also acts as an escalation point regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues, providing excellent customer service and support.
Job Purpose: The Senior Payroll Specialist is crucial in guaranteeing timely payroll execution, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and business goals, and keeping key stakeholders informed about changes and actions affecting their pay.

Role & Responsibility
Payroll Processing (30%)
- Accurately process payroll on a monthly basis, as required by the organization and legal frameworks.
- Verify and enter timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant data into the payroll system.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions such as taxes, benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions.
- Ensure accurate updating of payroll processes in line with legislative changes
Compliance (10%)
- Ensure payroll practices comply with country laws and regulations.
- Stay current on changes in payroll regulations and update payroll policies and procedures accordingly, ensuring business wide understanding where necessary.
- Prepare and file necessary payroll tax returns and reports on a timely basis.
- Support internal/external auditing process, taking the lead in each process as appropriate
Record Keeping (10%)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and employee information.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Safeguard confidential information and maintain privacy and security standards.
Employee / Business Support (20%)
- Escalation point for complex payroll queries
- Point of coordination for HRBP requests related to payroll
- Provide exceptional customer service to key stakeholders regarding payroll-related questions, concerns and updates.
- Educate employees and the business on payroll policies and procedures and their impact.
Reporting & Documentation (10%)
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to management and other departments as needed.
- Prepare financial reports and analyses related to payroll expenses (standard or adhoc requests)
- Management of payroll, tax, health and social insurance related documentation and vendors
Special Projects (20%)
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to payroll and human resources.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of payroll software and systems.
Job Requirement
Education and Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- Preferred: Local qualification in payroll regulations, tax compliance, HR or related field
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll processing.
- Required: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Required: Strong understanding of payroll best practices, laws, and regulations
- Required: Proven ability to translate complex payroll matters into everyday understanding
