We are looking for Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Bobcat.
Job Information
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all welding operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves managing welding projects, from initiation to Hand Over and ensuring quality control, safety, and continuous improvement in welding processes. A key objective is to build up the processes which will assure continues improvement on headcount reduction, efficiency increase, safety level and quality aspect improvement.
Role & Responsibility
Manufacturing:
- Optimizing current welding processes.
- Initiate process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce cost using appropriate methodology. (Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S…). Support BU’s on execution.
- Consult BU’s on root cause analysis and apply corrective actions for process deviations, using appropriate methodology (5 Whys, Ishikawa, Pareto Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), 8D,…).
- Develop and implement welding process standards to streamline activities and improve performance.
- Establish clear technical specifications for suppliers and negotiate to minimize initial and eliminate additional costs.
- Coordinate the ECN implementation to production environment with different BU’s.
- Follow latest LRP and SIOP, identify resource risks as well as action needed to cope with production volumes.
- Making sure latest work standard is available for implementation
- Maintain MES/ERP data
New project Development & Engineering contribution:
- Lead welding projects from initiation to final Hand Over.
- Analyze engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and Design for manufacturing (DFM) concepts.
- Conduct process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) and tooling design validation.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance testing at the supplier site and provide the technical feedback making sure the delivered equipment is based on specification. Validates the equipment on Site acceptance test.
- Stay updated on welding technology advancements and industry best practices.
- Evaluate existing or future factory manufacturing processes, systems, equipment and technology used.
- Creating Welding Maps, Process related work instructions.
- Industrial welding line design, covering all needed equipment, standard times, headcount, other related infrastructure.
Vendors:
- In contact with 3rd party suppliers about new technology
- Supports supplier nomination and selection process
- Coordinates supplier within installation of new equipment’s
- Solves issues and ensuring that all requirements are met within supplier management
Job Requirement
Education and Qualification:
- Engineering - University / Allow Equivalent
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Engineering related field
- International welding certification (IWE/IWS)
Experience:
- 5>7 years
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (Lean Manufacturing experience preferred)
- Minimum Experience Necessary: 5>
Skills:
- Proficiency in industrial process design
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably CREO.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Understanding of Robotic/ Manual Welding Processes (MAG/MAG)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and welding specifications.
- Familiarity with PFMEA, DFM, and tooling validation processes.
- Experience in process standardization.
