Job Information

The objective of the Quality Technician role is to work with the various departments to detect and to prevent product defects through:

  • Driving resolution to assigned quality issues
  • Coordinating activities of subordinates
  • Inspection of product, components and processs to ensure compliance
  • Audits of manufacturing processes in accordance with the quality system and following up with individuals when gaps are found.
  • Recommending design and/or manufacturing methods for quality improvements
  • Developing inspection plans for parts, components and processes, and communicating results to drive corrective action
  • Selection and use of measuring equipment

Role & Responsibility

Quality Assurance of Product and Process

  • Develop and conduct examination plans/inspections of complete machines, components and processes to determine their acceptance.
  • Communicate findings as required to responsible departments to drive corrective action.
  • Assist in maintaining the quality system, including documents and records, in accordance with ISO 9001.
  • Work closely with all departments to assure product quality is maintained in accordance with the management directives.

Non-Conforming Material

  • Evaluate and control nonconforming products or components in accordance with the quality system. 
  • Initiate Q-Status and monitor SDR’s for nonconforming products(s).
  • Communicate findings and drive action as required to responsible individuals and suppliers.
  • Order non-production replacement parts, perform minor repairs on NCM components, and trouble shoot problems during testing.

Quality Governance

  • Work in area of responsibility to monitor and supply actionable quality related information from internal and external sources to drive corrective action.
  • Complete formal audits and assessments on products and proesses.

 

Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, will allow equivalent experience.
  • Experience Required: 5-7 years.
  • Travel Required: <10%
  • Demonstrated skilles in blueprint reading, using measuring & test equipment, & nonconformance procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T, fabrication, weld, product assembly and paint processes.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical & technical experiences preferred.   Demonstrated experience with the application of computer tools used for communication and analysis. 
  • MS Office and Apriso experience.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
