Job Information

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for initiating new replacement part product purchases, for coordinating efficient initial stock procurement practices and for ensuring proper product life-cycle availability.  A series of procurement activities are performed including purchase order recommendations, enforcement of procurement guidelines, local sourcing availability analysis and demand forecasting. Knowledge of SPP module within SAP is required.

Role & Responsibility

  • Process purchase orders for the initial stock purchase for new release machines
  • Assist with part interchanges based on engineering releases as required
  • Update parts pricing as required
  • Analyze parts planning, forecasting and purchase activities within SPP module
  • Support and extend excellent communication with all related stakeholders
  • Create and process purchase orders
  • Obtain and distribute accurate ETA information to all stakeholders
  • Assist forwarding agents/brokers to minimize customs delays and ensure timely delivery of goods purchased abroad
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Expedite all open orders with suppliers and enforce lead-time guidelines
  • Resolve receiving problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirement

  • Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field 
  • Experience Required: At least two years of purchasing experience required
  • Experience in ERP systems SAP Preferred 
  • Must have experience with forecasting and planning
  • Experience Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
