As an Aftermarket NPD Specialist, you will represent Aftermarket on New Product Development (NPD) programs interfacing with various business function project leads to identify, understand, and communicate the NPD program’s Aftermarket requirements to ensure project success. You will form aftermarket project strategies and have the opportunity to present to executives for approval. In addition, you will manage the procurement of project’s required materials to properly support dealers for initial sales of new products.
Role & Responsibility
Launch NPD parts programs
- Ensure early and ongoing Aftermarket involvement in the NPD process to develop a sound strategy for project success
- Present strategies to Aftermarket Executive leadership for approval prior to project gate reviews
- Work with Procurement and Material Analysts to procure all materials during the product development phase and analyze quantities needed
- Document Aftermarket procurement activity in the appropriate NPD project management tools
- Attend NPD program team meetings representing aftermarket and present on behalf of Aftermarket at Stage Gate reviews as required
NPD liaison
- Serve as the primary liaison for all NPD projects for strategic communications and special problem resolution, in a highly responsive and pro-active manner
- Work with the Material Analysts and Procurement to ensure availability of parts
- Build strong relationships with internal customers, and cross-functional departments
- Ensure cross functional groups support Aftermarket’s project strategies and goals
Job Requirement
- Education required: Business Administration - Bachelors Degree
- Experience required: 5>7 years
- Minimum of 2 years of procurement, or product/project management experience preferred
- A technical and/or inventory control background is helpful
- Travel requried: <10%
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, analytical/problem solving skills, and the ability to multi-task and follow through in a fast-paced environment
- High level of motivation and self-direction
- High degree of fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Must be able to read and receive instructions in English
