Develop and evaluate solutions for new and existing challenges using the latest in engineering data acquisition and analysis tools.  Strive to keep Bobcat products at the top of industry performance and durability.  Work in a hands-on environment where it’s expected you’ll be evaluating improvements first hand, not just on the computer screen.

Role & Responsibility

  • Test support of Mini Excavator and General R&D projects
  • Execute endurance and performance test activities to support Bobcat product development
  • Train with current personnel and industry experts on acquisition and analysis of durability and performance parameters for structural, hydraulic, powertrain, and cooling system components
  • Supervise Coops and/or Engineering Technicians
  • May supervise and assist in the training and development of co-ops and engineering technicians

Additional Responsibilities

  • Structural fatigue life analysis through internal life prediction methods
  • Laboratory fatigue testing of components aided by damage comparison tools
  • Product specifications and performance testing for marketing and sales literature
  • Hydraulic component performance and durability testing
  • Preparation and ongoing review of products for durability testing at proving grounds
  • Cooling performance testing
  • Coordinate tests and communicate status with product design engineers
  • Make recommendations regarding product design, materials, or other specifications based on test results and sound engineering principles and theories
  • Work with contract test laboratories

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering: Agriculture or Mechanical
  • Strong applied mechanical and engineering skills and a willingness to use them
  • Experience with operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment
  • Experience with test and validation methods, preferred
  • Understanding of the theory and design of Company products
  • Promote safe workplace activities from equipment operation to day to day activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Competency with MS Office Suite
  • Experience: 0-2 years
  • Travel Standard: < 10%
