The Software Quality Assurance Manager will lead several project teams through the entire software development lifecycle from concept to delivery with the goal of driving product development to accomplish the company’s long-range goals.

Monitor every phase of the development process to ensure that the design and software adhere to company and external standards. Committed to improving the quality and performance to exceed customers' expectations. They are involved in the entire software development process to ensure quality, this can include processes such as requirements gathering and documentation, source code control, code review, change management, configuration management, release management, and testing of software.

Software quality assurance should not be confused with software testing. Must be familiar with software development life cycle and processes at all phases to be effective.

Role & Responsibility

Leadership 

  • Assist in the development of engineering goals and strategies which are in alignment with the company’s goals 
  • Assess and identify strategies for team member growth and succession planning 
  • Provide coaching / mentoring to team members on requirements, software development, and testing best practices 
  • Work with engineering management and team members to facilitate all aspects of projects: define, schedule, prioritize, track, and proactively communicate the status of multiple projects 

Process 

  • Advise and encourage engineering and project management utilizing Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools and best practices to deliver quality software projects per plan 
  • Track and prioritize tasks across multiple product releases and efforts simultaneously utilizing ALM 
  • Develop and monitor defect rates and lead quality efforts to identify areas for improvement 

Business 

  • Lead planning, estimation, and tracking activities for projects 
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain operating budget for responsible areas per AOP 

Job Requirement

  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams for multiple products, product functions, and product improvement/optimization effort 
  • Clear understanding of requirement capture, software development, validation, and quality processes 
  • Ability to deal with peers and managers at all levels and functions within the company 
  • Strong capacity for leading change, dealing with ambiguity, and providing creative solutions and influencing multi-discipline teams with data, scientific reasoning, and strong coaching skills 
  • Strong experience in project management and different software process methodologies 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Highly motivated and passionate about embedded systems 
  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience 
  • 5+ years of people management experience 
  • Travel Required: <10%
