The Fabrication Testing and Qualification function within the Asset Management Business of Altrad Babcock, provide consultancy services to the Oil and Gas, Process, Nuclear and Renewables sectors. Within this function we have an opportunity for a Project Engineer (Test) to join us in Renfrew.

Our successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of the team providing a wide range of expertise across the division, as well as undertaking work across the wider Asset Management business.

You will have the ability to project manage and lead Equipment Qualification (EQ) test programmes including financial and technical governance, while analysing data generated from EQ tests. You will be comfortable writing reports and technical documents, along with providing specification of instrumentation and data acquisition test set-up to meet client test programme requirements.

In addition to this, you will be comfortable preparing tenders to meet client requirements, while working on the structural design and calculations of bespoke test rigs required to carry out department contracts. We are looking for an Engineer with the ability to work on the specification of instrumentation and data acquisition test set-up to meet client test programme requirements.

Our new Project Engineer (Test) will hold a relevant Engineering degree and possibly a MEng (or working towards one) alongside practical hands on experience in structural qualification of components within a relevant sector, instrumentation and data acquisition experience, and thorough understanding of the mechanical engineering principals and their application within a component test environment.
