Job Information
The Solution Manager plays a critical role in supporting the delivery, governance and lifecycle management of the solutions portfolio within the AI Solutions area. This role involves enabling informed decisions regarding the portfolio, aligning digital solutions with strategic objectives, ensuring efficient execution of projects and operations, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders such as the AI Transformation Office, the AI COE, and other Digital delivery teams.
Role & Responsibility
- Enable Solution Portfolio Decisions: Provide insights and recommendations to enable informed decisions about the solutions portfolio based on solutions and projects within the AI domain.
- Establish Portfolio Management Framework: Create and implement a comprehensive portfolio management framework, including tools and methods, to effectively manage the portfolio's components.
- Strategic Alignment: Align the AI Solutions roadmap with the strategic objectives of the Bobcat Organization, ensuring that the portfolio contributes to the organization's forward-looking plans.
- Execution Oversight: Drive and closely monitor the progress in executing the solution portfolio roadmap, ensuring that projects and initiatives are on track. Ensure operations meet service level expectations.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle status of solutions within the portfolio, including decisions on enhancements and new developments.
- Requirements Prioritization: Prioritize strategic business requirements, technical requirements, and security/compliance requirements for the solution portfolio. Balance speed to market and innovation with alignment with the larger technology solutions portfolio.
- Budget Approval: Approve solution runtime budgets within the portfolio and support the Cloud Infrastructure Director in managing the budget for IT and business costs related to the portfolio.
- Talent Development: Manage internal technical talent, develop training and mentoring plans, and actively participate in talent selection, onboarding, and retention.
- Vendor and Supplier Collaboration: Secure collaboration with vendors and external suppliers for solution delivery, ensuring the successful implementation of projects.
- Release Planning: Approve release plans for solutions in line with business priorities, ensuring that they align with the overall portfolio strategy.
- Portfolio Forum: Chair the Solution Portfolio forum, fostering collaboration among stakeholders and preparing necessary decisions related to the solution portfolio.
Competence:
- Software Engineering Management: Understand software engineering, software operations, solution portfolios and related processes with a track record of successful execution.
- Process and Solution Knowledge: Have a good understanding of process, solution and data dependencies, allowing for effective decision-making.
- Business and Digital Acumen: Demonstrate a deep understanding of both business and digital processes, bridging the gap between technical and business requirements.
- Collaborative Skills: Be an excellent collaborator, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Innovation: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with emerging technology.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Management, Information Technology, etc.).
- Several years of experience in software engineering management, solution portfolio management or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
