Job Information

Responsible for task execution in the design, verification, validation, and integration of an integrated fuel processor for a highly efficient, high temperature hydrogen based fuel cell system. With technical skills and teamwork focus, support, and participate in the fuel processing team, in collaboration with other multi-discipline groups, with the development, advancement and commercialization of a fuel cell micro CHP system, with focus on all aspects of reactor design, analysis, model development and validation, prototype development, and characterization for an integrated fuel processor for a fuel cell system. Participate in and contribute to multi-disciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers, hardware engineers, and others to pursue and achieve business objectives, on time, on cost with optimal quality. Has solid understanding of the fundamentals to the design discipline, while continuing to develop specialized knowledge in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for small projects or multiple tasks within the design discipline.

Role & Responsibility

  • Knowledge and use of root cause techniques to reach optimal problem resolution.
  • Responsible for process control for the fuel process to assure proper start-up, shutdown, steady-state, and transient operations.
  • Assure all work performed meets quality standards.
  • Work to develop plans that anticipate and deliver short-term business goals.
  • As may be assigned, work with suppliers, fabricators, and others to generate low cost, durable designs for fuel processing.
  • Utilize root cause techniques to determine true root cause, and enact mitigation/corrective actions based on root cause determinations.
  • Stay abreast of all external fuel cell and fuel processing concepts and developments to maintain leading edge progress and success.
  • Seek self-developmental opportunities, and support the development needs of others to help elevate their knowledge and skills in fuel processing.
  • Ongoing focus on career development.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS degree with 2+ years of experience
  • MA/MS degree with 0+ years of experience
  • Chemical Engineering or other related degree
  • Experience with executing customer demands/requirements
  • Experience working with a diverse group of technical and business-focused individuals and groups, occasionally on a global-basis.

Knowledge & Skill

  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of fuel cells and fuel processing technology
  • Basic process and systems understanding and know-how
  • Work with moderate guidance on projects with a short-term focus
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong focus on teamwork and employee development
  • Solid computer skills.
